About the product

Tareg 40 Mg 15 Tablets

Description:

Tareg 40 mg 15 tablets is a prescription antihypertensive medicine containing valsartan, an angiotensin ii receptor blocker (arb). It is used to lower high blood pressure and help protect the heart and blood vessels by blocking the effects of angiotensin ii, a substance that causes blood vessels to constrict. By relaxing blood vessels and reducing peripheral resistance, Tareg 40 mg helps control hypertension and supports long-term cardiovascular health when used as directed by a healthcare professional.

Indications:

  • Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults.
  • Helps reduce the risk of complications associated with uncontrolled high blood pressure, such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage (as part of an overall cardiovascular risk management plan prescribed by a doctor).
  • May be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents as prescribed.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Valsartan – 40 mg per film-coated tablet.
  • Excipients: film-coating and tablet core excipients (such as fillers, binders, colorants, and preservatives) are present but specific ingredient names and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Dosage must always be determined by the prescribing physician based on the patient’s condition, blood pressure response, and concomitant medications.
  • Typical adult starting dose for hypertension is often 40 mg once or twice daily, which may be adjusted by the doctor. Exact regimen should follow your physician’s instructions and the official prescribing information.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
  • Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day for best blood pressure control.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed tablet.
  • Do not stop taking Tareg 40 mg without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Helps lower elevated blood pressure by selectively blocking angiotensin ii at the at1 receptor, leading to vasodilation and reduced peripheral resistance.
  • Reduces the effects of angiotensin ii such as vasoconstriction, sympathetic stimulation, aldosterone and adrenaline release, and salt and water retention, supporting better blood pressure control.
  • Supports long-term cardiovascular protection when used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, potentially reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other hypertension-related complications.
  • Generally well tolerated and suitable for long-term management of hypertension under medical supervision.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to valsartan or any component of the formulation.
  • Contraindicated during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, due to risk of injury and death to the developing fetus. If pregnancy is detected, discontinue Tareg as soon as possible.
  • Not recommended during breastfeeding unless clearly needed and only under strict medical supervision.
  • Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, renal artery stenosis, severe hepatic impairment, or biliary obstructive disorders; dose adjustment and close monitoring may be required.
  • Concomitant use with potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g. spironolactone, triamterene, amiloride), potassium supplements, or salt substitutes containing potassium may lead to hyperkalaemia; monitor serum potassium and renal function, especially in heart failure or renal impairment.
  • Use with caution in patients with dehydration, volume depletion, or those on high-dose diuretics, as symptomatic hypotension may occur.
  • Inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking, including other antihypertensives, diuretics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (nsaids), and lithium, as interactions may occur.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have medical conditions such as kidney disease, liver disease, heart failure, or electrolyte imbalance.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without a doctor’s prescription and supervision.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, fatigue, low blood pressure (hypotension), or mild gastrointestinal discomfort. These are usually mild and transient.
  • Less common side effects can include elevated potassium levels (hyperkalaemia), changes in kidney function (increased serum creatinine or blood urea), or palpitations.
  • Serious but rare side effects may include severe hypotension, angioedema (swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat), or significant kidney impairment.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, severe dizziness, fainting, or markedly decreased urine output.
  • This is not a complete list of side effects. Always refer to the patient information leaflet and consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
