Ezacard 100 Mg 30 Tab 6223003207434
Description:
Ezacard 100 mg is a low-dose acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) medicine in enteric-coated tablet form, manufactured by Multi-Apex. It belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and is primarily used as an antiplatelet agent to help prevent blood clots. Ezacard 100 mg is commonly prescribed for long-term cardiovascular and cerebrovascular protection, including the prevention of heart attack and stroke, and to improve survival in emergency heart attack situations. Each pack contains 30 enteric-coated tablets designed to reduce gastric irritation and provide targeted release in the intestine.
Indications:
- Prophylaxis (prevention) of myocardial infarction (heart attack) in patients at risk or with a history of coronary artery disease.
- Prophylaxis of cerebrovascular disease, including prevention of ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) in at-risk patients.
- Secondary prevention in patients with a history of heart attack, stroke, or established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
- To improve survival and reduce complications in the emergency situation of an acute heart attack, as directed by a physician.
- Prevention of thromboembolic events in certain high-risk patients as assessed by a healthcare professional.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) – 100 mg per enteric-coated tablet.
- Other excipients: enteric-coating materials and tablet base ingredients (exact excipient list and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website; please refer to the package insert for full details).
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Usual adult dose for cardiovascular or cerebrovascular prophylaxis: typically 75–100 mg once daily, as prescribed by the physician. Ezacard 100 mg is usually taken as 1 tablet once daily.
- Swallow the enteric-coated tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet, as this may damage the enteric coating and increase the risk of gastric irritation.
- Preferably take at the same time each day to maintain consistent antiplatelet effect.
- Can be taken with or without food; however, taking with food or after meals may help reduce stomach discomfort in sensitive individuals.
- For emergency use in an acute heart attack, follow your doctor’s or emergency medical provider’s exact instructions. In many protocols, a higher loading dose of aspirin is used; do not self-adjust your dose without medical advice.
- Do not exceed the prescribed dose or duration. Long-term use must be under medical supervision, especially in patients with bleeding risks or concomitant medications.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember on the same day. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Clinical Benefits:
- Helps prevent formation of blood clots by inhibiting platelet aggregation, reducing the risk of heart attack and ischemic stroke.
- Provides long-term cardiovascular protection in patients with established coronary artery disease or high cardiovascular risk.
- Supports better outcomes and survival in emergency heart attack situations when used as part of standard medical care.
- Enteric-coated formulation is designed to minimize direct irritation to the stomach lining compared with non-coated aspirin tablets.
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Do not use if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), other salicylates, or any component of the product.
- Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or a history of recurrent peptic ulcers or GI hemorrhage, unless strictly supervised by a physician.
- Contraindicated in patients with bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, thrombocytopenia, or severe coagulation disorders.
- Not recommended in patients with severe liver or severe kidney impairment unless specifically directed and monitored by a specialist.
- Use with caution in patients with asthma, nasal polyps, or a history of aspirin-induced bronchospasm or allergy, as aspirin can trigger severe bronchospasm.
- Avoid concomitant use with other NSAIDs, high-dose aspirin, or anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin, DOACs, heparin) without medical supervision due to increased risk of bleeding.
- Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding; limit or avoid alcohol while taking Ezacard.
- Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, especially during the third trimester, or if you are planning pregnancy. Low-dose aspirin may be used in specific pregnancy-related conditions only under strict medical supervision.
- Consult your doctor before use if breastfeeding, as small amounts of aspirin may pass into breast milk.
- Consult your doctor before use if you have liver disease, kidney disease, uncontrolled hypertension, history of gastrointestinal ulcers, gout, or are taking other medications (e.g., anticoagulants, antiplatelets, corticosteroids, SSRIs, methotrexate, certain diuretics).
- Discontinue and seek medical advice before surgery or dental procedures, as aspirin can increase bleeding risk; your doctor may advise stopping the drug several days before the procedure.
- Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease by itself; it must be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan prescribed by a healthcare professional.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects: mild gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, stomach pain, heartburn, or indigestion.
- Less common side effects: bruising, nosebleeds, or prolonged bleeding from cuts due to reduced platelet function.
- Serious side effects (seek immediate medical attention): signs of gastrointestinal bleeding (black, tarry stools; blood in vomit; vomiting that looks like coffee grounds), severe abdominal pain, severe or unusual bleeding, sudden severe headache, weakness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, chest pain, or shortness of breath.
- Allergic reactions: rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. Stop use and seek emergency care if these occur.
- The above list is not exhaustive. For a complete list of side effects, refer to the patient information leaflet and consult your healthcare provider.
