Description:

Mellitofix 25 mg 30 tab is a prescription oral antidiabetic medicine containing empagliflozin, an sglt2 (sodium-glucose cotransporter-2) inhibitor. It is used along with diet and exercise to help lower high blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease. Mellitofix is not insulin and is not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. It works by helping the kidneys remove excess glucose from the blood through the urine, supporting better long-term glycemic control and cardiovascular protection as part of a comprehensive diabetes management plan.

Indications:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

Warnings & Contraindications:

• Consult your doctor before use if you have liver disease, recurrent urinary infections, pancreatitis, or are on a low-carbohydrate or ketogenic diet.

Side Effects:

• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is more likely when Mellitofix is used together with insulin or insulin secretagogues (e.g., sulfonylureas). Symptoms include sweating, tremor, hunger, palpitations, confusion, or headache.
• Stop the medicine and seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of severe allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling of face/lips/tongue, difficulty breathing), severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or any symptoms suggestive of ketoacidosis.
