Actifast 50 Mg 30 Sachets
Description:
Actifast 50 mg 30 sachets is an oral prescription-strength non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (nsaid) containing diclofenac potassium. It is formulated in convenient single-dose sachets for rapid relief of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal and joint disorders, as well as acute painful conditions. Diclofenac potassium provides analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, making Actifast suitable for short-term management of moderate pain under medical supervision.
Indications:
- Relief of pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis.
- Management of pain and stiffness in ankylosing spondylitis.
- Treatment of acute attacks of gout-associated joint pain and inflammation.
- Painful joint disorders, including inflammatory joint diseases and crystal deposition diseases.
- Symptomatic relief of osteoarthritis-related pain and swelling.
- Short-term relief of pain and inflammation after dental, minor surgical, and orthopedic procedures (as directed by a physician).
- Relief of primary dysmenorrhoea (menstrual pain) in women, when prescribed.
- General short-term management of moderate pain and inflammatory conditions where an nsaid is indicated, under medical guidance.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Diclofenac potassium – 50 mg per sachet.
- Other excipients: information on full inactive ingredient list is not available in the provided data. Please refer to the package insert for complete composition.
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Use only as prescribed by your physician or as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Adults: Common oral diclofenac potassium regimens for pain are typically 50 mg 2–3 times daily; however, the exact dose, frequency, and duration must be determined by the doctor based on the condition and patient factors. Follow your doctor’s instructions strictly.
- Method of administration: Empty the contents of one sachet into a glass, add an adequate amount of water, stir until dispersed, and drink immediately.
- It is generally recommended to take diclofenac with or after food to help reduce gastrointestinal discomfort, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
- Do not exceed the total daily dose or duration of treatment prescribed by your doctor.
- If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
- Not recommended for use in children unless specifically prescribed by a pediatric specialist.
Clinical Benefits:
- Provides effective analgesic action for moderate musculoskeletal and joint pain.
- Reduces inflammation by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase (cox) enzymes and decreasing prostaglandin synthesis.
- Helps relieve swelling, stiffness, and functional limitation in arthritis and joint disorders.
- Offers antipyretic (fever-reducing) effect in inflammatory conditions.
- Convenient sachet form allows easy oral administration and accurate dosing.
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diclofenac, other nsaids, aspirin, or any component of the product.
- Contraindicated in patients with a history of nsaid-induced asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions.
- Do not use in patients with active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or perforation, or a history of recurrent peptic ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Use with extreme caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, heart failure, or risk factors for cardiovascular events, as nsaids may increase the risk of thrombotic events (e.g., myocardial infarction, stroke).
- Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment; dose adjustment and close monitoring may be required.
- Avoid concomitant use with other nsaids, high-dose aspirin, or anticoagulants unless specifically advised by a physician.
- May interact with antihypertensives, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, and other medications; inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking.
- Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or nursing. Diclofenac is generally not recommended, especially in the third trimester of pregnancy.
- Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without proper medical supervision.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not use beyond the expiry date or if the sachet is damaged.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, headache, dizziness, or skin rash.
- Serious side effects (seek immediate medical attention): signs of gastrointestinal bleeding (bloody or black stools, vomiting blood), severe abdominal pain, severe skin reactions, facial or tongue swelling, difficulty breathing, chest pain, sudden weakness, or vision/speech disturbances.
- Long-term or high-dose use may increase the risk of cardiovascular events, kidney impairment, or liver function abnormalities; periodic monitoring may be required for chronic therapy.
Storage Instructions:
