Description:
Aerius 5 mg tablets are a prescription antihistamine medicine containing desloratadine, a second-generation, long-acting tricyclic H1 receptor antagonist. They are used for the relief of allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin allergies like hives (urticaria). As a non-sedating antihistamine in most patients, Aerius 5 mg tablets provide effective, once-daily control of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria while allowing patients to maintain normal daily activities.
Indications:
- Treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), including symptoms such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, nasal itching, and itching of the throat.
- Relief of ocular symptoms associated with allergies, including red, itchy, and watery eyes.
- Relief of symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives), including itchy, raised, red skin rashes.
- Management of other histamine-mediated allergic symptoms such as itching of the skin and general allergic reactions of the upper respiratory tract.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Desloratadine – 5 mg per film-coated tablet.
- Other tablet excipients, including film-coating agents, fillers, and stabilizers – exact excipient list and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website. Please refer to the official package insert for full details.

- Duration of use should be as directed by your doctor or pharmacist, depending on the type and duration of your allergy (seasonal or persistent).
