Description:

Amosar 50 mg 30 tablets is a prescription antihypertensive medicine containing losartan potassium, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It is used to lower high blood pressure and protect the heart, blood vessels, and kidneys, especially in patients at cardiovascular risk. By selectively blocking angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors, Amosar helps relax blood vessels, reduce peripheral resistance, and improve long-term cardiovascular health. It is suitable for adult patients as directed by a physician.

Indications:

• Treatment of essential (primary) hypertension in adults.
• Reduction of the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy (as assessed by a physician).

• Cytochrome P450 inhibitors such as ketoconazole can increase the exposure (AUC) of losartan by about 18 %, although they have no significant effect on its active metabolite; use under medical supervision.
• May cause dizziness or fatigue; avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the medicine affects you.
• Consult your doctor before use if you have heart failure, severe vomiting or diarrhoea, are on a low-salt diet, or have conditions affecting blood volume or electrolytes.
