Brilique 90 Mg 56 Tablets
Description:
Brilique 90 mg tablets are a prescription antiplatelet medicine (platelet aggregation inhibitor) containing ticagrelor, used to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular death in patients with a history of acute coronary syndrome (such as heart attack or unstable angina) or established coronary artery disease. It works by preventing platelets in the blood from clumping together and forming harmful blood clots in the arteries. Brilique is typically used in combination with low-dose aspirin as directed by a cardiologist or healthcare professional.
Indications:
- Secondary prevention of atherothrombotic events (such as heart attack or stroke) in adult patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) or non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI), or unstable angina.
- Reduction of the risk of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, or stroke in patients with a history of myocardial infarction.
- Prevention of stent thrombosis in patients who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with stent placement, when used with aspirin.
- Helps reduce the formation of blood clots in coronary arteries, which can lead to chest pain, heart attack, or stroke.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Ticagrelor – 90 mg per film-coated tablet.
- Other tablet excipients (such as fillers, binders, and coating agents) are present but specific excipient names and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website. Refer to the official package leaflet for the full excipient list.
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Brilique 90 mg tablets are for oral use in adults only and must be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Typical regimen in acute coronary syndrome: usually 90 mg twice daily, used together with a daily maintenance dose of low-dose aspirin (75–150 mg), unless your doctor advises otherwise. The exact dose and duration are determined by your cardiologist.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food.
- Try to take the doses at the same times each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
- If you forget a dose, take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed tablet.
- Do not stop taking Brilique without consulting your doctor, as stopping suddenly may increase your risk of heart attack or stroke.
- Use in combination therapy: Brilique is usually prescribed together with aspirin. Do not change the dose of aspirin or stop it unless instructed by your doctor.
Clinical Benefits:
- Helps prevent dangerous blood clots by inhibiting platelet aggregation, thereby reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
- Reduces the risk of cardiovascular death and recurrent myocardial infarction in patients with a history of acute coronary syndrome.
- Provides effective protection against stent thrombosis after coronary stent placement when used with aspirin.
- Offers rapid and reversible platelet inhibition, allowing more predictable control of antiplatelet effect compared to some other agents.
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Do not use Brilique if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ticagrelor or any of the other ingredients in the tablets.
- Contraindicated in patients with active pathological bleeding (such as active peptic ulcer bleeding or intracranial hemorrhage).
