It is used to reduce moderate to severe pain, inflammation, and fever associated with various musculoskeletal and inflammatory conditions. Brufen 600 mg is commonly prescribed for arthritis, back pain, dental pain, post-operative pain, and menstrual cramps, providing effective relief by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, which is responsible for pain, swelling, and fever.
Indications:
- Rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory joint diseases
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disorders
- Acute gout and crystal deposition joint disorders
- Musculoskeletal pain such as back pain, sprains, and strains
- Pain and inflammation following dental procedures, minor surgery, and orthopedic interventions
- Dysmenorrhoea (painful menstrual cramps)
- Juvenile arthritis (dose and suitability must be determined by a pediatric specialist)
- Migraine and headache relief (as directed by a physician)
- Reduction of fever and inflammatory symptoms in various conditions, when prescribed
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Ibuprofen – 600 mg per tablet (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, NSAID)
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Adults: The usual dose is 600 mg (1 tablet) taken 2–3 times daily, as prescribed by the physician. Do not exceed the maximum total daily dose recommended by your doctor.
- Elderly: Use with caution; the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration should be used under medical supervision.
- Adolescents: Use only if specifically prescribed by a doctor, with dose adjusted according to body weight and condition.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
- It is preferable to take Brufen 600 mg with food or milk to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal discomfort.
- Duration of treatment should be as short as possible; do not use for longer than recommended by your doctor.
- If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose.
- Always follow your doctor’s instructions and the directions on the package insert. Do not self-medicate with high-dose ibuprofen.
Clinical Benefits:
- Provides strong analgesic action for moderate to severe pain such as arthritis pain, back pain, and dental pain.
- Reduces inflammation and swelling in joints and soft tissues by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
- Helps lower fever (antipyretic effect) in inflammatory and infectious conditions when prescribed.
- Improves mobility and functional ability in patients with inflammatory joint diseases by relieving pain and stiffness.
Warnings & Contraindications:

- Do not use in patients with a history of aspirin- or NSAID-induced asthma, bronchospasm, rhinitis, angioedema, or urticaria.
- Contraindicated in active, or history of, recurrent peptic ulcer/bleeding or gastrointestinal perforation related to previous NSAID therapy.
- Avoid use in severe heart failure, severe hepatic impairment, or severe renal impairment unless strictly supervised by a specialist.
- Use with caution in patients with hypertension, heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, cerebrovascular disease, or risk factors for cardiovascular events, as NSAIDs may increase the risk of thrombotic events.

- Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have medical conditions such as kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding disorders, or asthma.
- Not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy; use during first and second trimesters only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor.
