Cevamol Eff 12 Tablets
Description:
Cevamol Eff 12 Tablets is an effervescent analgesic and antipyretic medicine combining paracetamol (acetaminophen) and vitamin c. It is formulated to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever, while supporting the immune system with vitamin c. The effervescent form allows the tablet to dissolve in water, providing rapid absorption and a convenient option for adults and older children who prefer an easy-to-take pain and fever relief solution.
Indications:
- Relief of mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, muscle pain, back pain, and joint pain.
- Reduction of fever associated with common cold, flu, and other infections.
- Symptomatic relief of pain and fever in conditions like migraine and acute gout (as part of the physician’s treatment plan).
- Supportive immune function during episodes of cold and flu due to the presence of vitamin c.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Paracetamol (acetaminophen) – 400 mg per effervescent tablet.
- Vitamin c (ascorbic acid) – 250 mg per effervescent tablet.
- Other excipients: Effervescent base and tablet excipients (full excipient list is not available in the provided information; please refer to the product pack for complete details).
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Adults and adolescents (over 12 years): Unless otherwise directed by a physician, the usual dose is 1 effervescent tablet dissolved completely in a glass of water, taken every 4–6 hours as needed for pain or fever. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of paracetamol recommended on the product label or by your doctor (commonly not more than 4 g paracetamol per day from all sources).
- Children 6–12 years: Use only on medical advice. A lower dose or longer dosing interval may be required. Always follow your doctor’s instructions and the package leaflet.
- Do not exceed the recommended number of effervescent tablets per day. Do not use with other products containing paracetamol to avoid overdose.
- Administration: Dissolve the effervescent tablet completely in a glass of water, wait until the fizzing stops, then drink the solution immediately. Do not swallow the tablet whole or chew it.
- With or without food: Cevamol Eff can be taken with or without food. If you have a sensitive stomach, taking it after food may be preferable.
- Duration of use: Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary. Do not use for more than 3 days for fever or 5 days for pain without consulting a doctor.
Clinical Benefits:
- Provides effective analgesic action by raising the pain threshold, helping to relieve common pains such as headache, toothache, and muscle aches.
- Offers antipyretic action by acting on the thermoregulatory center in the hypothalamus to help lower fever.
- Effervescent formulation allows for rapid dissolution and absorption, which may provide faster onset of pain and fever relief compared to some solid oral forms.
- Contains vitamin c to support immune function and help the body cope during episodes of cold and flu.
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Do not use if you are allergic to paracetamol, vitamin c, or any of the excipients in the product.
- Paracetamol overdose can cause serious liver damage, which may be life-threatening. Do not exceed the recommended dose and do not take with other paracetamol-containing medicines.
- Use with caution in patients with liver disease, chronic alcohol use, severe kidney impairment, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, or a history of kidney stones (due to vitamin c).
- Drug interactions (paracetamol): Cholestyramine may reduce absorption of paracetamol; activated charcoal given immediately may reduce absorption; domperidone and metoclopramide may enhance absorption; chronic excessive alcohol ingestion potentiates hepatotoxicity of paracetamol.
- Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are taking other medications including anticoagulants, antiepileptics, or other pain and cold remedies.
- Do not use for more than the recommended duration without medical advice, especially in children and adolescents.
- Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease beyond its approved indications.
- Keep out of reach of children. Accidental overdose requires immediate medical attention, even if no symptoms are present.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects (usually mild and infrequent): Nausea, stomach discomfort, or mild gastrointestinal upset.
- Less common/rare side effects: Allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, urticaria, facial or throat swelling, or difficulty breathing; these require immediate medical attention and discontinuation of the product.
- Very rare but serious: Liver dysfunction or liver failure with excessive doses or prolonged use of paracetamol, especially in patients with pre-existing liver disease or chronic alcohol use.
- High doses of vitamin c over prolonged periods may increase the risk of kidney stones in susceptible individuals.
- If you notice any unusual symptoms such as persistent nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or severe fatigue, stop using the product and seek medical attention immediately.
