Description:
Colospasmin Forte 135 mg is a prescription antispasmodic medicine containing mebeverine, specifically formulated to relieve abdominal cramps and bowel spasms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other functional gastrointestinal disorders. Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Adults: Typical total daily dose of mebeverine is 405 mg/day, usually taken as 135 mg tablet three times daily (one tablet three times per day), preferably about 20 minutes before main meals, or as directed by the physician.
- Children over 10 years: Usual total daily dose is 405 mg/day, given as 135 mg tablet three times daily (one tablet three times per day), 20 minutes before meals, or as prescribed by the doctor.
- Children under 10 years: Contraindicated. Do not use Colospasmin Forte 135 mg in children below 10 years of age.
- Tablets should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of water; do not crush or chew the sugar-coated tablets.
- Once adequate symptom control is achieved (often after about 1 week), the dose may be gradually reduced according to the physician’s recommendation.
- Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Always follow your doctor’s instructions and the directions on the package insert.
