Daflon 1000 Mg 30 Tablets
Description:
Daflon 1000 mg 30 tablets is a prescription venotonic and vascular-protective medicine used to improve vein function and capillary resistance. It contains the bioflavonoids diosmin and hesperidin, which act as phlebotropic agents to support healthy blood circulation in the veins, especially in the legs and rectal area. Daflon 1000 mg is commonly used in the management of chronic venous insufficiency symptoms such as leg pain, heaviness, swelling, and varicose veins, as well as in the treatment of hemorrhoids. It is formulated as film-coated tablets for oral use in adults under medical supervision.
Indications:
- Chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs (CVI), including symptoms such as leg heaviness, pain, cramps, swelling, and varicose veins.
- Functional symptoms related to venous-lymphatic insufficiency (e.g., feeling of tired or heavy legs, especially after prolonged standing or sitting).
- Acute hemorrhoidal attacks (pain, swelling, bleeding associated with hemorrhoids), as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
- Supportive treatment in chronic hemorrhoidal disease to reduce frequency and severity of episodes.
- Vascular-protective support in conditions associated with increased capillary fragility (e.g., easy bruising, minor bleeding such as bleeding gums or epistaxis) when prescribed by a physician.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Diosmin – 900 mg per tablet (micronized purified flavonoid fraction component)
- Hesperidin – 100 mg per tablet (expressed as hesperidin or hesperidin-like flavonoids)
- Total active flavonoid fraction – 1000 mg per film-coated tablet
- Excipients (film-coating and tablet core components such as fillers, binders, and colorants) – exact composition and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website; please refer to the official package leaflet for full excipient list.
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Route of administration: Oral use only. Swallow the film-coated tablets whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
- For chronic venous insufficiency (e.g., leg heaviness, varicose veins): The usual adult dose is 1 tablet of Daflon 1000 mg once daily, preferably with food, or as directed by your physician.
- For acute hemorrhoidal attacks: Common regimens (must be confirmed by a doctor) often start with a higher dose for a few days (e.g., multiple tablets per day) followed by a reduced maintenance dose. Follow your doctor’s exact instructions and the local approved prescribing information.
- Duration of treatment: For venous insufficiency, treatment is usually over several weeks or longer depending on symptom severity and medical advice. For hemorrhoids, treatment is typically short-term and should not exceed the duration recommended by your doctor.
- With or without food: It is generally recommended to take Daflon 1000 mg with meals to improve gastrointestinal tolerance.
- Missed dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed tablet.
- Do not use in children: Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents have not been established; use is intended for adults only unless otherwise specified by a specialist.
Clinical Benefits:
- Helps improve venous tone and supports better blood return from the legs, reducing symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency.
- Enhances capillary resistance and decreases capillary permeability, helping to reduce edema (swelling) and leg heaviness.
- Provides vascular-protective action that supports fragile blood vessels and may help reduce minor bleeding related to capillary fragility when medically indicated.
- Assists in relieving pain, discomfort, and swelling associated with acute and chronic hemorrhoids as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
- Supports overall venous microcirculation, which may help improve quality of life in patients with venous disorders when used alongside lifestyle measures (e.g., leg elevation, compression stockings, weight control).
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Do not use Daflon 1000 mg if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to diosmin, hesperidin, other flavonoids, or any of the excipients in the product.
- This medicine is intended for symptomatic treatment of venous and hemorrhoidal conditions and does not replace specific surgical or procedural treatments when needed.
- In case of acute hemorrhoidal attacks, Daflon 1000 mg should be used for a limited period only. If symptoms persist, worsen, or new symptoms appear (such as severe bleeding, intense pain, or fever), consult your doctor promptly for further evaluation.
- For chronic venous insufficiency, treatment with Daflon 1000 mg should be combined with lifestyle measures such as avoiding prolonged standing, regular physical activity, leg elevation, and the use of compression stockings if recommended by your doctor.
