Description:

Indications:

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

• Euthyrox 50 mcg must be used exactly as prescribed by your doctor or endocrinologist. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.
• Usual administration: take the tablet once daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30–60 minutes before breakfast, with a full glass of water.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless specifically advised by a healthcare professional. For patients who cannot swallow tablets, your doctor may advise how to disperse the tablet appropriately.
• Dosage is individualized based on age, body weight, severity and duration of hypothyroidism, cardiovascular status, and laboratory results (TSH, T4, T3). Initial doses are often lower and gradually adjusted.
• In elderly patients or those with heart disease (e.g., coronary artery disease, arrhythmias), therapy is usually started at a low dose and increased slowly under close monitoring.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember on the same day. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
• Certain foods and medicines (such as calcium supplements, iron supplements, aluminum-containing antacids, cholestyramine, sucralfate, and some others) can reduce absorption of levothyroxine. These should generally be taken at least 4 hours apart from Euthyrox. Always follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s advice.

Side Effects:

• Seek urgent medical help if you experience severe chest pain, severe shortness of breath, very rapid or irregular heartbeat, confusion, seizures, or any other serious or worrying symptoms.
