About the product

Gynera Tablets

Description:

Gynera Tablets are a prescription hormonal contraceptive medicine belonging to the combined oral contraceptive pill (COCP) class. Each tablet contains a combination of synthetic estrogen and progestin that work together to provide highly effective pregnancy prevention when taken correctly. Gynera is designed for women of reproductive age seeking reliable birth control, cycle regulation, and improved menstrual control under medical supervision. It is produced by Bayer Healthcare, a globally recognized pharmaceutical company.

Indications:

  • Hormonal contraception for the prevention of pregnancy.
  • Regulation of menstrual cycles in women with irregular periods (as assessed by a healthcare professional).
  • Reduction of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) and heavy menstrual bleeding in some women.
  • May help improve acne and seborrhea in some users, as evaluated by a doctor.
  • Part of family planning strategies when oral hormonal contraception is appropriate and not contraindicated.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Ethinyl estradiol – 0.03 mg (30 micrograms) per tablet*
  • Gestodene – 0.075 mg (75 micrograms) per tablet*
  • *Concentrations are based on standard Gynera formulation. Always check the local package insert for confirmation.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Gynera Tablets are for oral use only and must be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Standard regimen: 1 tablet once daily, preferably at the same time each day, for 21 consecutive days, followed by a 7-day tablet-free interval.
  • A withdrawal bleed (similar to a menstrual period) usually occurs during the 7-day break.
  • After the 7-day break, start a new pack on the same weekday, even if bleeding has not finished.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with water; can be taken with or without food. Taking it after food may reduce nausea in sensitive users.
  • Starting for the first time: usually begin on Day 1 of your menstrual cycle (first day of bleeding) or as directed by your doctor.
  • Switching from another hormonal contraceptive: follow your doctor’s instructions regarding timing and overlap.
  • Missed dose: If you are less than 12 hours late, take the missed tablet as soon as you remember and continue as usual. If you are more than 12 hours late or have missed multiple tablets, follow the instructions in the package insert and use additional non-hormonal contraception (e.g., condoms) as advised.
  • Vomiting or severe diarrhea within 3–4 hours after taking a tablet may reduce effectiveness; follow missed-pill guidance and consider an extra tablet as per the leaflet or physician advice.
  • Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Do not start or stop Gynera without consulting your doctor.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Provides highly effective, reversible contraception when taken correctly.
  • Helps regulate menstrual cycles, making periods more predictable.
  • May reduce menstrual pain and decrease the amount and duration of menstrual bleeding in many women.
  • Can improve hormone-related symptoms such as acne and seborrhea in some users.
  • Supports comprehensive family planning and reproductive health under medical supervision.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Gynera Tablets are a prescription-only hormonal medicine and should be used only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding unless specifically advised by your doctor.
  • Contraindicated in women with a history of venous or arterial thromboembolism (blood clots), stroke, heart attack, or known thrombophilia (blood clotting disorders).
  • Contraindicated in women with severe liver disease, liver tumors, or unexplained jaundice.
  • Contraindicated in women with known or suspected hormone-dependent malignancies (e.g., breast or endometrial cancer).
  • Contraindicated in cases of unexplained vaginal bleeding that has not been investigated.
  • Smoking, especially in women over 35 years, significantly increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects; smokers are strongly advised not to use combined oral contraceptives.
  • Use with caution and only after medical evaluation if you have risk factors such as obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol or triglycerides, migraine (particularly with aura), or a family history of blood clots or cardiovascular disease.
  • Certain medicines (e.g., some antiepileptics, rifampicin, rifabutin, some HIV and hepatitis C medicines, some herbal products like St. John’s wort) may reduce contraceptive effectiveness; inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you use.
  • Gynera does not protect against HIV (AIDS) or other sexually transmitted infections (STIs); barrier methods such as condoms are required for STI protection.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you have liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes, migraine, depression, gallbladder disease, or any chronic medical condition.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease other than its approved contraceptive and hormone-related indications.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include nausea, abdominal discomfort, breast tenderness, headache, mood changes, and slight weight changes.
  • Breakthrough bleeding or spotting between periods, changes in menstrual flow, or missed withdrawal bleeding may occur, especially in the first few cycles.
  • Some users may experience changes in libido, fluid retention, or mild skin changes (improvement or worsening of acne).
  • Serious but less common side effects include signs of blood clots (sudden leg pain or swelling, chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden vision changes, severe headache), stroke, or heart attack. Seek urgent medical attention if any of these occur.
  • Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, or swelling are possible; discontinue use and contact a doctor if you suspect an allergy.
  • If you experience persistent, severe, or unusual symptoms while taking Gynera, stop use and consult your healthcare provider immediately.
