Description:
Levcet 5 mg 20 tablets is an oral antihistamine medicine containing levocetirizine, a third-generation non-sedating H1 receptor antagonist. It is used for the relief and control of allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin itching or hives. Levcet is suitable for adults and adolescents as prescribed, and is designed to provide long-lasting 24-hour allergy relief with minimal drowsiness when taken at the recommended dose.
Indications:
- Treatment of allergic rhinitis (seasonal and perennial), including symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, nasal itching, and itchy or watery eyes.
- Relief of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives), including skin redness, itching, and wheals.
- Management of general allergy symptoms triggered by dust, pollen, pet dander, molds, or other environmental allergens.
- Helps reduce histamine-mediated symptoms such as itching of the nose or throat and allergic conjunctivitis.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Levocetirizine dihydrochloride – 5 mg per tablet (active antihistamine).
- Other tablet excipients (fillers, binders, coating agents, etc.) – exact composition not available.
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: Usually 1 tablet (5 mg) once daily, preferably taken at the same time each day, or as directed by your doctor.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew.
- Can be taken with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, taking it with food may help.
- Use in children under 12 years: Only as directed by a pediatrician and according to appropriate pediatric formulations and dosing.
- Patients with kidney impairment: Dose adjustment may be required; consult your doctor before use.
- Do not exceed the recommended daily dose unless specifically instructed by your healthcare provider.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
Clinical Benefits:
- Provides effective 24-hour relief from symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.
- Reduces itching, redness, and wheals in chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives).
