Levohistam 5 Mg 30 Tablets
Description:
Levohistam 5 mg 30 tablets is an oral antihistamine medicine containing levocetirizine, a third-generation non-sedative H1 receptor antagonist. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions such as allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Levohistam helps relieve common allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin itching or hives, with minimal drowsiness in most patients when used at recommended doses.
Indications:
- Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes.
- Relief of symptoms associated with perennial allergic rhinitis (year-round allergies), including nasal and ocular symptoms.
- Treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria (chronic hives) including itching, redness, and wheals.
- General relief of histamine-mediated allergic symptoms affecting the upper respiratory tract and skin, as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Levocetirizine dihydrochloride – 5 mg per film-coated tablet.
- Excipients (tablet base, film-coating agents, stabilizers, and coloring agents) – exact composition and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website. Please refer to the official package leaflet for full excipient list.
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: The usual recommended dose is 1 tablet (5 mg) once daily, preferably taken at the same time each day.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose unless directed by your doctor.
- Patients with kidney (renal) impairment may require a reduced dose or less frequent dosing; follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
- Use in children: Dosing in children under 12 years should only be according to a doctor’s prescription and age-appropriate formulation if available.
- Duration of use: For seasonal allergies, use for the period of allergen exposure or as advised by your physician. For chronic urticaria or perennial rhinitis, duration should be determined by your doctor based on response and clinical need.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed tablet.

- Reduces eye-related allergy symptoms including itching, redness, and excessive tearing.
- Helps control skin manifestations of allergy such as itching, redness, and hives in chronic idiopathic urticaria.
