Lovir 800 mg 35Tab is a prescription antiviral medicine containing acyclovir, formulated as oral dispersible tablets. Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

- Genital Herpes – Initial Episode: 200 mg every 4 hours, 5 times daily for 10 days (note: Lovir 800 mg strength may be adjusted by your physician to match the required daily dose).
- Chronic Suppressive Therapy for Recurrent Genital Herpes: 400 mg twice daily for up to 12 months, followed by re-evaluation by the physician. Dose regimen using 800 mg tablets must be determined by the doctor.
- Treatment of Chickenpox (Varicella):
– Children 2 years of age and older: 20 mg/kg per dose orally 4 times daily (80 mg/kg/day) for 5 days (maximum dose and use of 800 mg tablets must be adjusted by a pediatrician).
– Adults and children over 40 kg: 800 mg 4 times daily for 5 days. - Tablets are oral dispersible: they may be dispersed in a small amount of water before swallowing or swallowed whole with water, as advised by your doctor.
