Methoquick 30 Tablets
Description:
Methoquick 50/500 mg 30 tablets is an oral prescription medicine that combines diclofenac potassium (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug – nsaid) with methocarbamol (a centrally acting muscle relaxant). It is formulated to provide rapid relief from acute musculoskeletal pain, muscle spasm, and inflammation, especially in conditions affecting the back, neck, joints, and soft tissues. By targeting both pain and muscle spasm, Methoquick helps improve mobility and comfort in adults under medical supervision.
Indications:
- Short-term treatment of acute painful musculoskeletal conditions associated with muscle spasm (such as low back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain).
- Adjunctive therapy in acute strains, sprains, and sports injuries with associated inflammation and muscle spasm.
- Painful conditions of the joints and soft tissues where both analgesic/anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant effects are required (e.g., acute exacerbations of osteoarthritis or cervical/lumbar spondylosis with spasm).
- Relief of pain, tenderness, and stiffness that limit movement in acute musculoskeletal disorders.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Diclofenac potassium – 50 mg per tablet (nsaid analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic).
- Methocarbamol – 500 mg per tablet (centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant).
- Excipients: Exact excipient list and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website. Refer to the official package insert for full composition.
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Use only as prescribed by a physician.
- Adults: Commonly 1 tablet taken 2–3 times daily, depending on severity of pain and muscle spasm, as directed by your doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
- Preferably take with food or after meals to help reduce potential gastric irritation from diclofenac.
- Duration of use is usually short term (a few days up to a maximum of about 7–10 days) unless your doctor advises otherwise.
- Not recommended for children unless specifically prescribed by a pediatric specialist.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
Clinical Benefits:
- Provides dual action relief by combining an nsaid (diclofenac potassium) with a muscle relaxant (methocarbamol) for more comprehensive control of acute musculoskeletal pain.
- Helps reduce inflammation, swelling, and pain by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase and decreasing prostaglandin synthesis.
- Relieves painful muscle spasm and stiffness, improving range of motion and physical function.
- Rapid onset of analgesic effect due to the potassium salt form of diclofenac, supporting quicker pain relief in acute episodes.
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diclofenac, methocarbamol, other nsaids, or any component of the product.
- Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or history of recurrent peptic ulcer/gi bleeding related to nsaids.
- Do not use in patients with severe heart failure, severe hepatic impairment, or severe renal impairment unless strictly supervised by a specialist.
- Use with caution in patients with a history of asthma, allergic disorders, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, or liver disease.
- Methocarbamol may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision; avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks requiring alertness until you know how the medicine affects you.
- Avoid concomitant use with other nsaids, high-dose aspirin, or anticoagulants unless advised by your doctor due to increased risk of bleeding and gastrointestinal side effects.
- Alcohol may enhance drowsiness and increase gastrointestinal risk; limit or avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine.
- Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or planning pregnancy. Nsaids are generally not recommended, especially in the third trimester.
- Consult your doctor before use if breastfeeding, as safety data are limited.
- Consult your doctor before use if you are taking other medications such as blood thinners, antihypertensives, diuretics, corticosteroids, antidepressants, or other painkillers.
- Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without proper medical supervision.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects may include nausea, stomach discomfort, indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, headache, dizziness, or drowsiness.
- Methocarbamol-related effects can include drowsiness, fatigue, lightheadedness, blurred vision, or confusion, especially at higher doses.
- Less common but serious side effects of diclofenac may include gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, severe abdominal pain, vomiting blood, black/tarry stools, severe skin reactions, swelling of the face or limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, or sudden weakness.
- Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling of the face/lips/tongue/throat, difficulty breathing) require immediate medical attention.
- If you experience severe or persistent side effects, or any signs of allergic reaction, stop taking the medicine and seek medical help immediately.
