Mobitil 15 Mg Tablets
Description:
Mobitil 15 mg tablets are a prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (nsaid) containing meloxicam, used for the relief of pain and inflammation in joint and musculoskeletal disorders. As a preferential cox-2 inhibitor from the oxicam class, Mobitil helps reduce swelling, stiffness, and pain associated with chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis, as well as acute gout attacks. It is an oral medicine formulated for adults and should be used under medical supervision.
Indications:
- Management of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, including joint pain, swelling, and stiffness.
- Treatment of osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) to relieve pain and improve joint mobility.
- Management of ankylosing spondylitis, helping to reduce spinal pain and inflammation.
- Short-term treatment of acute gout attacks to reduce pain and inflammation.
- Relief of inflammatory musculoskeletal pain where a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug is indicated, as prescribed by a physician.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Meloxicam – 15 mg per tablet.
- Excipients: tablet core and coating excipients (full excipient list and their concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website; please refer to the package insert for details).
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Adults: The usual recommended dose is 15 mg once daily, taken as directed by your doctor. In some cases, your doctor may reduce the dose to 7.5 mg daily depending on your condition and response.
- Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration to control symptoms and reduce the risk of side effects.
- Mobitil 15 mg tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew.
- It is generally recommended to take the tablet with food or after meals to help reduce gastrointestinal irritation.
- Do not exceed a total daily dose of 15 mg meloxicam unless specifically instructed by your physician.
- Special populations (elderly, patients with increased risk of adverse reactions, or those with mild to moderate renal or hepatic impairment) may require lower doses; follow your doctor’s instructions strictly.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose.
- Use in children and adolescents: dosing and suitability must be determined by a pediatric specialist; in many guidelines, meloxicam tablets are not recommended for younger children. Follow medical advice strictly.
Clinical Benefits:
- Provides effective analgesic action for mild to moderate pain associated with arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Reduces inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis through preferential cox-2 inhibition, helping to decrease joint swelling and tenderness.
- Improves joint mobility and functional capacity in chronic inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
- Offers once-daily dosing convenience, supporting better treatment adherence for long-term management of chronic joint diseases.
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to meloxicam, other nsai ds, or any component of the formulation.
- Do not use in patients with a history of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other nsai ds (risk of severe, potentially fatal anaphylactic reactions).
- Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer, recent gastrointestinal bleeding, or perforation, and in those with a history of recurrent peptic ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment not on dialysis, and in patients with severe uncontrolled heart failure.
- Not recommended in the third trimester of pregnancy due to risk of fetal and maternal complications (including premature closure of the ductus arteriosus). Use in the first and second trimesters only if clearly needed and under strict medical supervision.
- Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular risk factors (e.g., hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, smoking) as nsai ds may increase the risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, myocardial infarction, and stroke.
- Use with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease (ulcer, bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease) as nsai ds can cause serious gi adverse events including bleeding and perforation.
- Monitor renal and hepatic function in patients on long-term therapy, the elderly, and those with pre-existing kidney or liver disease.
- Avoid concomitant use with other nsai ds (including selective cox-2 inhibitors) or high-dose aspirin to reduce the risk of additive side effects.
- May interact with anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (ssris), diuretics, ace inhibitors, angiotensin ii receptor blockers, lithium, methotrexate, and some other medications; inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking.
- Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have medical conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, kidney disease, liver disease, gastrointestinal disorders, or bleeding tendencies.
- This product is a prescription medicine and must be used only under medical supervision.
- Keep out of reach of children.

- Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, headache, dizziness, and skin rash.
- Less common but serious side effects can include gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, severe abdominal pain, black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing), severe skin reactions, liver function disturbances, and kidney impairment.
- Nsai ds including meloxicam may be associated with an increased risk of serious cardiovascular events such as heart attack or stroke, especially with long-term use or in patients with existing cardiovascular disease.
- Stop taking the medicine and seek immediate medical attention if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, severe skin reactions, or signs of allergic reaction.
