About the product

Natrilix Sr 30 Tablets

Description:

Natrilix SR 30 Tablets is a prescription antihypertensive medicine containing indapamide, a thiazide‑related diuretic used for the long-term management of high blood pressure. The SR (sustained release) formulation provides gradual release of the active ingredient over 24 hours, helping to maintain stable blood pressure control with once-daily dosing. By promoting gentle diuresis and vasodilation, Natrilix SR helps reduce cardiovascular risk associated with uncontrolled hypertension when used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan including diet and lifestyle modification.

Indications:

  • Management of essential (primary) hypertension in adults.
  • May be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive agents as prescribed by a physician.
  • Helps reduce elevated blood pressure and associated symptoms such as headache, dizziness, and fatigue related to uncontrolled hypertension.
  • Assists in lowering long-term cardiovascular risk (such as stroke and heart disease) when blood pressure is controlled as part of an overall treatment strategy.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Indapamide – 1.5 mg sustained release per tablet.
  • Excipients: Includes tablet core and coating ingredients (such as fillers, binders, and release‑controlling agents). Exact excipient composition and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website; please refer to the official package leaflet for full details.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Usual adult dose: 1 tablet (1.5 mg indapamide SR) once daily, or as directed by your physician.
  • Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet, as this will affect the sustained release profile.
  • Timing: Preferably taken in the morning, with or without food, at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
  • Duration of use: Long-term treatment; continue taking Natrilix SR regularly even if you feel well, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
  • Missed dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed tablet.
  • Do not change the dose or stop the medication without consulting your healthcare provider.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Provides effective 24-hour blood pressure control through sustained release of indapamide.
  • Reduces total peripheral vascular resistance via vasodilation, helping to lower elevated blood pressure.
  • Acts as a mild diuretic, promoting sodium and water excretion and helping to decrease blood volume and blood pressure.
  • Helps lower long-term risk of cardiovascular complications associated with hypertension when used consistently as prescribed.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to indapamide, other sulfonamides, or any component of the formulation.
  • Contraindicated in severe renal failure, severe hepatic impairment, hepatic encephalopathy, or in patients with hypokalemia that cannot be corrected.
  • Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, liver disease, gout, diabetes mellitus, or a history of electrolyte imbalance (especially low potassium, sodium, or magnesium, or high calcium levels).
  • May cause electrolyte disturbances (such as hypokalemia, hyponatremia, hypomagnesemia); periodic monitoring of serum electrolytes and renal function is recommended.
  • Can increase uric acid and blood glucose levels; caution in patients with gout or diabetes.
  • May potentiate the effect of other antihypertensive agents, increasing the risk of hypotension.
  • Drug interactions: Use cautiously with lithium, other diuretics, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, NSAIDs, and diazoxide (may increase risk of hyperglycemia, hyperuricemia, and hypotension). Always inform your doctor about all medications and supplements you are taking.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or planning pregnancy. Indapamide should generally be avoided during pregnancy unless clearly needed. If breastfeeding, seek medical advice before use.
  • May cause dizziness or fatigue, especially at the start of treatment or when the dose is changed. Use caution when driving or operating machinery until you know how the medicine affects you.
  • Not intended for use in children unless specifically prescribed by a specialist.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you have liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes, gout, or are taking other blood pressure medicines, diuretics, or lithium.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include headache, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, nausea, constipation, dry mouth, or mild gastrointestinal discomfort.
  • Electrolyte disturbances such as low potassium (hypokalemia), low sodium (hyponatremia), or low magnesium (hypomagnesemia) may occur and can cause muscle cramps, weakness, thirst, confusion, or irregular heartbeat.
  • Less common side effects may include skin rash, itching, photosensitivity reactions (increased sensitivity to sunlight), or changes in uric acid and blood glucose levels.
  • Serious side effects (seek immediate medical attention): severe dizziness or fainting, very slow or irregular heartbeat, severe muscle weakness or cramps, signs of severe dehydration, severe abdominal pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), or signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or difficulty breathing.
  • If you experience any unusual or persistent symptoms, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
