Nit Clean 500 Mg 30 Tablets
Description:
Nit Clean 500 mg 30 Tablets is an oral prescription antiparasitic medicine containing nitazoxanide. It is used for the treatment of a wide range of intestinal parasitic infections that cause diarrhea and gastrointestinal discomfort, such as giardiasis, amoebiasis, helminthic infections, trichomoniasis, fascioliasis and cryptosporidiosis. Nitazoxanide works by blocking anaerobic energy metabolism in susceptible organisms, helping to clear the infection and relieve symptoms like abdominal pain, bloating and loose stools. This product is intended for use under medical supervision.
Indications:
- Treatment of helminthiasis (intestinal worm infestations) as prescribed by a doctor.
- Treatment of giardiasis (Giardia lamblia infection) causing diarrhea and abdominal cramps.
- Treatment of intestinal amoebiasis due to Entamoeba histolytica.
- Treatment of trichomoniasis as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Treatment of fascioliasis (liver fluke infection) when indicated by a physician.
- Treatment of cryptosporidiosis, especially in immunocompetent patients, to help control watery diarrhea.
- Management of parasitic-related diarrhea and gastrointestinal upset as diagnosed by a doctor.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Nitazoxanide – 500 mg per tablet.
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Use exactly as prescribed by your physician. Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration.
- Typical adult dose for intestinal parasitic infections is often 500 mg (one tablet) every 12 hours for a specified number of days; however, exact dose, frequency and duration must be determined by the doctor based on the type and severity of infection, age, and body weight.
- Tablets are usually taken with food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor instructs you to.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
- Complete the full course of therapy even if symptoms improve early, to help prevent recurrence or resistance.
- Use in children: dosing must be strictly according to pediatrician instructions, based on age and weight.
Clinical Benefits:
- Broad-spectrum antiparasitic action against multiple protozoa and helminths that cause intestinal infections.
- Helps reduce and control acute diarrhea associated with parasitic infections such as giardiasis and cryptosporidiosis.
- Improves gastrointestinal symptoms including abdominal pain, cramps, bloating and flatulence related to parasitic infestations.
- Targets anaerobic energy metabolism in parasites, helping to eradicate the infection at its source.
- Supports faster recovery and return to normal daily activities when used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Do not use Nit Clean 500 mg if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to nitazoxanide or any of the excipients in the formulation.
- Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment; dose adjustment or close monitoring may be required as directed by a physician.
- Caution is advised when co-administering nitazoxanide with drugs that are highly plasma protein bound, as interactions may occur; inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking.
- Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Use only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus or infant.
- Patients with chronic gastrointestinal diseases, immune compromise, or severe dehydration due to diarrhea should be monitored closely by a healthcare professional.
- Not recommended for self-medication. Always use under medical supervision and after proper diagnosis of the type of infection.
- Do not share this medication with others, even if they have similar symptoms.
- Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment unless your doctor advises otherwise.
- Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have medical conditions such as liver disease, kidney disease, or immune disorders.
- Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without medical supervision.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects may include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, or dizziness.
- Some patients may experience changes in urine or sclera color (yellowish discoloration), which are usually reversible after stopping treatment; inform your doctor if this occurs.
- Allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face or tongue, or difficulty breathing are rare but require immediate medical attention.
- If you experience severe or persistent diarrhea, intense abdominal pain, signs of liver problems (such as dark urine, persistent nausea, yellowing of skin or eyes), or any unusual symptoms, stop using the product and contact your doctor promptly.
