About the product

Pantazol 14 Tablets

Description:

Pantazol 14 Tablets (pantoprazole 40 mg enteric coated tablets) is a prescription gastrointestinal medicine used to reduce excess stomach acid. It belongs to the class of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and is indicated for the treatment of acid-related disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and conditions associated with pathological hypersecretion of gastric acid. Each enteric coated tablet is designed to resist stomach acid and release pantoprazole in the intestine for optimal absorption and sustained acid suppression. Manufactured by Sovalue Pharma, Pantazol helps relieve heartburn, acid reflux, and related symptoms, supporting the healing of the esophagus and stomach lining.

Indications:

  • Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), including erosive esophagitis.
  • Relief of symptoms of acid reflux such as heartburn, burning sensation in the chest, sour regurgitation, and epigastric pain.
  • Treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers associated with increased gastric acid secretion.
  • Adjunct therapy in Helicobacter pylori eradication regimens (in combination with appropriate antibiotics), as prescribed by a physician.
  • Management of pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger–Ellison syndrome (under specialist supervision).
  • Prevention of acid-related damage in patients requiring long-term non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), when indicated by a doctor.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Pantoprazole – 40 mg per enteric coated tablet.
  • Other tablet excipients (fillers, binders, coating agents, colorants, stabilizers) are present but specific names and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Usual adult dose for GERD and acid reflux: 40 mg (1 tablet) once daily, or as directed by your physician.
  • For erosive esophagitis or peptic ulcers, your doctor may prescribe 40 mg once daily for 4–8 weeks, with possible extension based on clinical response.
  • For Zollinger–Ellison syndrome and other hypersecretory conditions, dosing is individualized and may be higher; follow specialist instructions strictly.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet, as this will damage the enteric coating.
  • Take preferably before a meal (usually in the morning), at the same time each day for best effect.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed tablet.
  • Duration of treatment should be determined by your doctor based on your condition, response to therapy, and any associated risk factors.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Provides potent and sustained reduction of gastric acid secretion by irreversible inhibition of the gastric proton pump (H+ / K+ atpase) in parietal cells.
  • Helps relieve heartburn, acid reflux, and upper abdominal pain, improving daily comfort and quality of life.
  • Promotes healing of erosive esophagitis, gastric ulcers, and duodenal ulcers by reducing acid-mediated mucosal damage.
  • Helps prevent recurrence of acid-related symptoms and complications when used as maintenance therapy under medical supervision.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole, other proton pump inhibitors, or any component of the formulation.
  • Do not use without medical supervision if you have persistent or severe symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, vomiting blood, black stools, unexplained weight loss, or chest pain, as these may indicate a serious condition requiring urgent evaluation.
  • Long-term use of proton pump inhibitors may be associated with increased risk of bone fractures, vitamin b12 deficiency, hypomagnesemia, and gastrointestinal infections; use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.
  • Use with caution in patients with severe liver impairment; dose adjustment or monitoring may be required as directed by a physician.
  • May interact with certain medications (e.g., warfarin, methotrexate, some antiretrovirals, antifungals, and drugs dependent on gastric ph for absorption). Inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you are taking.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or planning pregnancy. Pantoprazole should be used in pregnancy only if clearly needed and prescribed.
  • Consult your doctor before use if breastfeeding; pantoprazole may pass into breast milk.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you have liver disease, osteoporosis, low magnesium levels, or are taking diuretics or digoxin.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without proper medical supervision.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, nausea, or vomiting.
  • Less common side effects can include dizziness, rash, itching, joint pain, or sleep disturbances.
  • Serious but rare side effects may include severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing), severe skin reactions, liver function disturbances (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine), or significant changes in blood magnesium levels (muscle cramps, irregular heartbeat, seizures).
  • Stop taking the medicine and seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of a severe allergic reaction or any unusual, persistent, or worsening symptoms.
