About the product›
Sirdalud 2 Mg 20 Tablets
Description:
Sirdalud 2 mg 20 tablets is a prescription muscle relaxant medicine containing tizanidine, a centrally acting alpha-2 adrenergic agonist. It is used to relieve painful muscle spasms and spasticity associated with disorders of the spine and after certain orthopedic surgeries. By reducing excessive muscle tone and blocking pain signals to the brain, Sirdalud helps improve mobility, decrease discomfort, and support rehabilitation in patients with acute or chronic muscle spasm conditions.
Indications:
- Treatment of painful muscle spasms associated with static and functional disorders of the spine (e.g., cervical and lumbar syndromes).
- Relief of muscle spasm and increased muscle tone following surgery for disc prolapse.
- Management of muscle spasm and pain following orthopedic procedures such as surgery for osteoarthritis of the hip.
- Adjunctive therapy in conditions with increased skeletal muscle tone where a short-acting centrally acting muscle relaxant is required, as directed by a physician.
- Reduction of associated symptoms such as muscle stiffness, restricted movement, and musculoskeletal pain related to muscle spasm.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Tizanidine – 2 mg per tablet (centrally acting alpha-2 adrenergic agonist muscle relaxant).
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Use only as prescribed by your doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Adults: The usual starting dose is low and may be gradually increased by the physician depending on response and tolerability. Typical total daily doses are divided into 2–3 doses per day. Exact dosing regimen must be determined by the treating physician.
- Tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. They may be taken with or without food, but take consistently in the same way each time.
- Do not suddenly stop taking Sirdalud without medical advice, especially if you have been using it regularly for a prolonged period. The dose may need to be tapered gradually.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose.
- Use with caution in elderly patients or those with kidney or liver impairment; dose adjustments may be required as directed by the physician.
Clinical Benefits:
- Provides effective short-acting relief from painful skeletal muscle spasms.
- Reduces excessive muscle tone and stiffness, improving range of motion and mobility.
- Helps decrease musculoskeletal pain associated with spine disorders and post-surgical conditions.
- Supports rehabilitation and physical therapy by easing muscle tightness and discomfort.
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tizanidine or any component of the formulation.
- Use with extreme caution in patients with liver impairment; liver function should be monitored as advised by the physician.
- Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment; dose adjustment may be necessary.
- May cause drowsiness, dizziness, or fatigue. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks that require alertness until you know how the medicine affects you.
- Avoid alcohol and other central nervous system (cns) depressants (such as sedatives, sleeping pills, strong painkillers) as they can potentiate the sedative and cns effects of tizanidine.
- Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, especially other muscle relaxants, antihypertensives, or medicines that affect liver enzymes, to avoid potential interactions.
- Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Use only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus or infant.
- Not recommended for children unless specifically prescribed by a pediatric specialist.
- Patients with low blood pressure or those taking antihypertensive medicines should use Sirdalud carefully, as it may cause additional blood pressure lowering.
- Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without proper medical supervision.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth, weakness, and gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea or stomach discomfort.
- Other possible effects include low blood pressure, slow heart rate, and sleep disturbances.
- Serious but less common side effects may include signs of liver problems (such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, persistent nausea, or abdominal pain). If these occur, stop the medicine and seek medical attention immediately.
- Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing require urgent medical attention.
- If you experience severe dizziness, fainting, very slow heartbeat, or unusual weakness, contact your doctor promptly.
