About the product

Tecnovula Citrate 50 Mg 20 Tablets

Description:

Tecnovula Citrate 50 mg is a prescription fertility medicine containing clomiphene citrate, a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) used to stimulate ovulation. It is commonly prescribed for women with anovulatory infertility, including those with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and may also be used in men for certain types of infertility such as oligospermia. Each pack contains 20 tablets, designed for short treatment cycles under medical supervision to enhance the chances of conception by inducing or regulating ovulation.

Indications:

  • Anovulatory infertility in women (failure to ovulate regularly).
  • Oligomenorrhoea (infrequent or very light menstrual periods) associated with ovulatory dysfunction.
  • Post-pill amenorrhoea (absence of menstruation after stopping oral contraceptives) due to lack of ovulation.
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with anovulation, as an ovulation-inducing agent.
  • Lactation amenorrhoea (absence of menstruation during or after breastfeeding) when due to ovulatory dysfunction and when medically appropriate.
  • Psychogenic amenorrhoea (absence of menstruation related to psychological factors) when associated with anovulation.
  • Menorrhagia due to hyperplastic endometrium in specific cases as determined by the physician.
  • Male infertility due to oligospermia (low sperm count), as an off-label fertility agent under specialist supervision.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Clomiphene citrate – 50 mg per tablet.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Tecnovula Citrate 50 mg must be used only under the supervision of a gynecologist, fertility specialist, or qualified physician.
  • Typical dosing in women (ovulation induction): Common starting dose is 50 mg (1 tablet) once daily for 5 days, usually beginning on day 2–5 of the menstrual cycle, as directed by the doctor. If ovulation does not occur, the dose or regimen may be adjusted by the physician in subsequent cycles.
  • Male infertility (oligospermia): Dose and duration are strictly individualized by the treating specialist; do not self-medicate.
  • Tablets should be swallowed whole with water, with or without food, at the same time each day during the treatment course.
  • Do not exceed the prescribed dose or extend the duration of therapy beyond what your doctor recommends, as prolonged use may increase the risk of ovarian enlargement or other adverse effects.
  • If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember on the same day; if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Stimulates ovulation in women with anovulatory or irregular cycles, helping improve chances of pregnancy.
  • Increases pituitary secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), promoting follicular development and ovarian enlargement leading to ovulation.
  • Useful in fertility management for women with PCOS and other hormonal causes of ovulatory dysfunction.
  • In men, may enhance gonadotropin levels and steroidogenesis, potentially improving sperm production in selected cases of oligospermia.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Use only under medical supervision. Not for self-diagnosis or self-treatment.
  • Contraindicated in pregnancy; do not use if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy. A pregnancy test is usually recommended before starting each treatment cycle.
  • Contraindicated in patients with liver disease or a history of liver dysfunction, uncontrolled thyroid or adrenal disorders, hormone-dependent tumors, or ovarian cysts not related to PCOS (unless directed by a specialist).
  • Not recommended in patients with abnormal uterine bleeding of unknown cause until fully investigated.
  • Risk of multiple pregnancy (twins or more) is increased; this should be discussed with your doctor before starting treatment.
  • Ovarian enlargement and ovarian hyperstimulation may occur; report pelvic pain, bloating, or rapid weight gain to your doctor immediately.
  • Visual disturbances (blurred vision, spots, flashes) may occur; if this happens, stop treatment and contact your doctor. Do not drive or operate machinery if vision is affected.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you have liver disease, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, or any serious medical condition.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, taking other hormonal medicines, or undergoing other fertility treatments.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without medical supervision.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include hot flashes, headache, nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, abdominal discomfort, and mood changes.
  • Less common side effects can include visual disturbances (blurred vision, spots, flashes), dizziness, fatigue, or skin rash.
  • Serious side effects may include severe pelvic pain, significant abdominal swelling, rapid weight gain, shortness of breath, or signs of ovarian hyperstimulation; seek urgent medical attention if these occur.
  • If you experience persistent or severe side effects, or any symptom that worries you, stop taking the medicine and consult your doctor immediately.
