About the product

Thiotacid Original Tab 30 Tablets 600 ml

Description:

Thiotacid Original 600 mg film-coated tablets are a prescription-strength medicinal supplement containing thioctic acid (alpha lipoic acid), a powerful antioxidant used primarily in the management of diabetic neuropathy and oxidative stress–related conditions. Each pack contains 30 tablets, providing a one-month course at a typical once-daily dosing. Alpha lipoic acid helps protect nerve cells, supports glucose metabolism, and reduces free radical damage, making Thiotacid Original a commonly used adjunct therapy in diabetes care and other oxidative stress conditions, under medical supervision.

Indications:

  • Adjunct treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (nerve pain, burning, tingling, numbness in hands and feet associated with diabetes).
  • Support in reducing oxidative stress in patients with diabetes.
  • May be used as an antioxidant support in certain liver disorders and other conditions associated with increased free radical formation, as directed by a physician.
  • Support for nerve function and protection of nerve tissue from oxidative damage.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Thioctic acid (alpha lipoic acid) – 600 mg per film-coated tablet.
  • Excipients: film-coating and tablet core excipients (exact excipient list and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website; please refer to the package leaflet for full details).

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Usual adult dose: 600 mg (1 tablet) once daily, or as prescribed by your physician.
  • Take the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water; do not crush or chew.
  • It is generally recommended to take Thiotacid Original on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before breakfast, to optimize absorption, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
  • Duration of use depends on your condition and medical advice; long-term therapy may be required for chronic diabetic neuropathy.
  • Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Helps reduce symptoms of diabetic neuropathy such as burning, tingling, pain, and numbness in the extremities.
  • Acts as a potent antioxidant, helping to neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress in the body.
  • Supports healthy nerve function and may help slow progression of nerve damage associated with chronic hyperglycemia.
  • Contributes to improved glucose metabolism and energy production at the cellular level.
  • May provide supportive antioxidant protection for liver and other organs, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan prescribed by a physician.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to thioctic acid (alpha lipoic acid) or any of the excipients.
  • Use with caution in patients with diabetes receiving insulin or oral antidiabetic drugs, as alpha lipoic acid may enhance glucose utilization and increase the risk of hypoglycemia; blood glucose monitoring and possible dose adjustment of antidiabetic therapy may be required.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy; use during pregnancy should only occur if clearly needed and under medical supervision.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you are breastfeeding; safety during lactation has not been fully established.
  • Use with caution in patients with liver disease, kidney impairment, or other serious medical conditions; medical supervision is required.
  • Alcohol consumption may worsen neuropathy and reduce the effectiveness of treatment; patients should avoid or minimize alcohol intake.
  • Not intended for use in children unless specifically prescribed by a pediatric specialist.
  • If you experience signs of severe allergic reaction (such as rash, itching, swelling of face or tongue, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing), stop taking the product and seek immediate medical attention.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have medical conditions such as diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease, thyroid disorders, or any chronic illness.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, or diarrhea.
  • Less common side effects may include headache, dizziness, or changes in taste.
  • In diabetic patients, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) may occur, especially when used with insulin or oral antidiabetic agents; symptoms include sweating, tremor, hunger, palpitations, confusion, or weakness.
  • Allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or urticaria may occur in sensitive individuals.
  • Very rare but serious reactions (e.g., severe allergic reaction, anaphylaxis) require immediate medical attention.
  • If any side effects become severe, persistent, or if you notice any unusual symptoms, stop use and consult your doctor or pharmacist.
