About the product

Verserc 16 Mg 30 Tablets

Description:

Verserc 16 mg 30 tablets is a prescription oral medicine containing betahistine, an anti-vertigo agent used mainly in the management of Meniere's disease and other vestibular (inner ear) balance disorders. Betahistine is a selective histamine analogue that improves blood flow in the inner ear (labyrinth) and brain stem, helping to reduce the frequency and severity of vertigo attacks, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and hearing disturbances associated with Meniere's syndrome. This product is intended for adult patients under medical supervision.

Indications:

  • Treatment and long-term management of Meniere's syndrome / Meniere's disease (characterized by episodes of vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, and a feeling of fullness in the ear).
  • Symptomatic treatment of recurrent vertigo of vestibular origin (inner ear vertigo), as prescribed by a physician.
  • Helps reduce the frequency and intensity of vertigo attacks.
  • Helps relieve associated symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, tinnitus, and balance problems related to inner ear circulation disturbances.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Betahistine dihydrochloride – 16 mg per tablet.
  • Excipients: Other inactive ingredients (tablet core and coating excipients) are present but specific details , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website. Please refer to the package leaflet for the full excipient list.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Verserc 16 mg tablets are for oral use only and must be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Typical adult dose (for guidance only – always follow your doctor’s instructions): often 8–16 mg taken two to three times daily. Your doctor will adjust the dose based on your condition and response.
  • Swallow the tablet with a glass of water.
  • It is usually recommended to take betahistine with food or after meals to help reduce possible stomach discomfort.
  • Use regularly and continuously as directed, as the full benefit may take several weeks of treatment.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
  • Do not exceed the prescribed daily dose and do not stop treatment abruptly without consulting your doctor, especially if you are being treated for Meniere's disease.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Reduces the frequency and severity of vertigo attacks associated with Meniere's syndrome and vestibular disorders.
  • Improves blood flow to the inner ear (labyrinth) and brain stem by acting on histamine receptors in blood vessel walls, helping to normalize inner ear pressure.
  • Helps relieve associated symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and a sensation of fullness in the ear.
  • Supports better balance and stability, improving daily functioning and quality of life in patients suffering from chronic vertigo.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to betahistine or any of the excipients in the formulation.
  • Contraindicated in patients with pheochromocytoma (a rare tumor of the adrenal gland), as betahistine may provoke severe hypertension.
  • Use with caution in patients with a history of bronchial asthma; close medical monitoring is recommended.
  • Use with caution in patients with active or previous peptic ulcer disease or other significant gastrointestinal disorders, as betahistine may cause gastric irritation.
  • Patients with severe hypotension or cardiovascular disease should use this medicine only under strict medical supervision.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Betahistine should only be used in pregnancy or lactation if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician.
  • Inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking, especially other antihistamines or drugs that may interact with betahistine.
  • If you experience worsening vertigo, severe headache, chest pain, difficulty breathing, or allergic reactions (rash, swelling, severe dizziness, difficulty swallowing or breathing), seek medical attention immediately.
  • May cause mild drowsiness or dizziness in some individuals; if affected, avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the medicine affects you.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without proper medical evaluation and prescription.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include mild headache, nausea, indigestion, stomach discomfort, or bloating. Taking the tablets with food may help reduce gastrointestinal symptoms.
  • Less common side effects can include mild allergic skin reactions such as rash, itching, or hives.
  • Rare but serious side effects may include severe allergic reactions (angioedema, difficulty breathing, swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat). Stop the medicine and seek immediate medical attention if these occur.
  • If you notice any persistent, bothersome, or unusual symptoms while taking Verserc 16 mg, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
