Nevxal Forte Eye Drop

Description:

Nevxal Forte 0.3% Eye Drops 5 ml is a prescription ophthalmic medicine containing nepafenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation in the eye. It is primarily indicated for the management of postoperative ocular pain, redness, and swelling associated with cataract surgery. Nevxal Forte Eye Drop is formulated for topical use in the eye only and should be used under the supervision of an ophthalmologist or healthcare professional.

Indications:

  • Treatment of pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery.
  • Reduction of postoperative ocular redness, swelling, and discomfort following cataract extraction.
  • Relief of symptoms such as eye soreness, foreign body sensation, and photophobia related to postoperative inflammation (as directed by the physician).

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Nepafenac 0.3% (3 mg/ml) – ophthalmic suspension (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, NSAID).
  • Other excipients (such as suspending agents, stabilizers, preservatives, and buffering agents) are present, but full composition details , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website. Please refer to the package insert for the complete ingredient list.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • For adults undergoing cataract surgery: the usual dose of nepafenac ophthalmic is 1 drop in the affected eye(s) 3 times per day, starting 1 day before cataract surgery, as directed by the ophthalmologist.
  • Continue dosing on the day of surgery and for up to 14 days after surgery, or exactly as prescribed. Do not use for longer than 14 days postoperatively unless specifically instructed by your doctor.
  • Wash hands thoroughly before using Nevxal Forte Eye Drop.
  • Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure the suspension is evenly mixed.
  • Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket, and instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye, taking care not to touch the eye or eyelids with the dropper tip.
  • Close the eye gently for 1–2 minutes and avoid blinking excessively or rubbing the eye.
  • If using other ophthalmic medications (drops or ointments), leave at least 5–10 minutes between each product. Use eye drops before eye ointments.
  • Use exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not increase the dose or frequency without medical advice.
  • For pediatric use, elderly patients, or those with other eye conditions, follow the ophthalmologist’s specific instructions.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Helps effectively reduce postoperative eye pain and discomfort following cataract surgery.
  • Decreases ocular inflammation by inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes after conversion of nepafenac to its active form, amfenac.
  • Improves patient comfort and visual rehabilitation in the early postoperative period.
  • Supports better surgical outcomes by controlling redness, swelling, and inflammatory response in the anterior segment of the eye.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to nepafenac, amfenac, other NSAIDs, or any component of the formulation.
  • Use with caution in patients with a history of asthma, urticaria, or other allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs, as cross-sensitivity may occur.
  • Use with caution in patients with bleeding tendencies or those taking anticoagulants, as topical NSAIDs may increase the risk of bleeding, including ocular bleeding.
  • Prolonged use of topical NSAIDs may delay corneal healing and, in susceptible patients (e.g., with corneal epithelial defects, ocular surface disease, diabetes, or after repeated ocular surgeries), may increase the risk of corneal complications.
  • Do not wear contact lenses during the postoperative period unless your ophthalmologist specifically allows it.
  • Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface, including the eye or hands, to avoid contamination and potential eye infection.
  • If you experience severe eye pain, sudden vision changes, increased redness, or signs of infection (discharge, swelling), stop using the drops and contact your doctor immediately.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or planning pregnancy. Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed and prescribed.
  • If breastfeeding, consult your healthcare provider before using this medicine.
  • Inform your doctor about all medicines you are using, including other eye drops, systemic NSAIDs, anticoagulants, or corticosteroids.
  • May cause temporary blurred vision after instillation; do not drive or operate machinery until vision is clear.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you have diabetes, ocular surface disease, rheumatoid arthritis, or previous eye surgery complications.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • This product is a prescription medicine and should be used only under medical supervision.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include mild transient burning or stinging sensation in the eye, eye discomfort, foreign body sensation, or blurred vision immediately after instillation.
  • Other possible side effects can include eye redness, itching, increased tearing, dry eye, or headache.
  • Less common but more serious adverse effects may include corneal disorders (such as corneal thinning, erosion, or perforation), delayed wound healing, eye infection, or increased intraocular pressure, especially in predisposed patients.
  • Allergic reactions (rash, swelling of the face/eyelids, difficulty breathing) are rare but require immediate medical attention and discontinuation of the product.
  • If any side effect is severe, persistent, or you notice any unexpected symptoms, stop using Nevxal Forte Eye Drop and contact your ophthalmologist or healthcare provider promptly.
