About the product

Actifast 50 Mg 30 Tablets

Description:

Actifast 50 mg 30 tablets is a fast-acting oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (nsaid) containing diclofenac potassium. It is used for the short-term treatment of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, joint diseases, dental and minor surgical procedures, and menstrual pain. As a prescription-strength analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory medicine, Actifast helps relieve moderate pain and reduce swelling and fever when taken as directed under medical supervision.

Indications:

  • Relief of pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Management of pain and stiffness in ankylosing spondylitis.
  • Treatment of acute gout attacks to reduce joint pain and swelling.
  • Pain and inflammation in joint disorders, including inflammatory joint disease and crystal deposition disorders.
  • Symptomatic relief in osteoarthritis (joint pain, tenderness, and reduced mobility).
  • Relief of pain and inflammation following dental procedures and minor orthopedic surgery, as prescribed.
  • Management of primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual periods).
  • Short-term treatment of moderate acute pain where a fast onset of action is required, as directed by a physician.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Diclofenac potassium – 50 mg per tablet.
  • Other excipients: information on inactive ingredients is not available in the provided data. Please refer to the package leaflet for the full list of excipients.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Adults: The usual dose is 50 mg 2–3 times daily, as directed by your doctor. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose prescribed by your physician.
  • For dysmenorrhea: treatment is usually started at the first sign of menstrual pain with 50 mg, then continued with 50 mg every 8 hours as needed, according to medical advice.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
  • Can be taken with or after food to help reduce the risk of gastrointestinal side effects. Taking it on an empty stomach may result in a faster onset of action but may increase stomach irritation in sensitive individuals.
  • Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration to control symptoms.
  • Not recommended for children unless specifically prescribed by a pediatric specialist.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose.
  • Always follow your doctor’s instructions and the directions on the package insert. Do not self-medicate or extend treatment duration without medical advice.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Provides effective analgesic action for moderate acute pain, including joint, muscle, and post-operative pain.
  • Reduces inflammation by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase (cox) enzymes and decreasing prostaglandin synthesis at the site of inflammation.
  • Offers antipyretic (fever-reducing) effects in conditions associated with inflammatory fever.
  • Helps improve mobility and function in inflammatory joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis by alleviating pain and stiffness.
  • Provides rapid relief in painful menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea), helping improve daily comfort and activity.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diclofenac, other nsaids (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen), or any component of the product.
  • Do not use in patients with active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or history of recurrent ulcer or gi bleeding related to nsaid therapy.
  • Contraindicated in patients with severe heart failure, severe liver impairment, or severe renal impairment unless strictly supervised by a specialist.
  • Use with extreme caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, or smokers, as nsaids may increase the risk of cardiovascular events (such as heart attack or stroke), especially with prolonged use or high doses.
  • Use carefully in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders (ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, gastritis) due to increased risk of gi irritation and bleeding.
  • May cause fluid retention and edema; caution in patients with hypertension, heart failure, or kidney disease.
  • Not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy due to risk of fetal and maternal complications. Use in the first and second trimester only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor.
  • Diclofenac passes into breast milk in small amounts; breastfeeding women should use only on medical advice.
  • May cause dizziness, drowsiness, or visual disturbances in some patients; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
  • Avoid concomitant use with other nsaids, high-dose aspirin, anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), antiplatelets, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (ssris), or corticosteroids unless closely monitored, due to increased risk of bleeding or other adverse effects.
  • Regular monitoring of liver and kidney function may be required in long-term therapy.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have medical conditions such as liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease, hypertension, asthma, bleeding disorders, or gastrointestinal disease.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease beyond its approved medical indications.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, headache, dizziness, or skin rash.
  • Less common but serious side effects: gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcer (black or bloody stools, vomiting blood), severe abdominal pain, severe skin reactions, swelling of the face or limbs, sudden weight gain, shortness of breath, chest pain, or signs of liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, severe fatigue).
  • Allergic reactions may include rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, and difficulty breathing. Seek immediate medical attention if any signs of severe allergic reaction occur.
  • Stop using the medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe stomach pain, unexplained bruising or bleeding, severe headache, vision changes, or any unusual symptoms.
