About the product

Arcoxia 60 Mg 14 Tablets

Description:

Arcoxia 60 mg 14 tablets is a prescription anti-inflammatory pain relief medicine containing etoricoxib, a selective cox-2 inhibitor (coxib) from Merck Sharp & Dohme. It is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with chronic joint diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, as well as acute pain conditions including gout attacks and musculoskeletal pain like chronic low back pain. By selectively inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 (cox-2) enzyme, Arcoxia helps reduce the production of prostaglandins that cause pain, swelling, and stiffness, while having less effect on cox-1 compared with traditional non-selective NSAIDs.

Indications:

  • Treatment of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis (joint pain, stiffness, reduced mobility).
  • Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis to reduce joint pain, swelling, and inflammation.
  • Treatment of psoriatic arthritis to relieve joint pain and inflammatory symptoms.
  • Treatment of ankylosing spondylitis and other inflammatory spinal conditions.
  • Management of chronic low back pain and other chronic musculoskeletal pain where an NSAID is indicated.
  • Short-term treatment of acute pain, such as musculoskeletal pain or dental pain, as prescribed by a doctor.
  • Treatment of acute gouty arthritis to relieve pain and inflammation during gout attacks.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Etoricoxib – 60 mg per film-coated tablet.
  • Excipients (inactive ingredients) – may include tablet core and film-coating components such as lactose, cellulose, coloring agents, and stabilizers (exact excipient list and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website; please refer to the package leaflet).

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Always use Arcoxia 60 mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration.
  • Typical adult doses (for guidance only – the prescribing physician will determine the exact dose):
    • Osteoarthritis: commonly 30–60 mg once daily.
    • Rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: commonly 60 mg once daily (may vary by patient).
    • Acute gouty arthritis: often 120 mg once daily for a short period (maximum duration usually up to 8 days).
    • Chronic low back pain or other chronic musculoskeletal pain: dose individualized, often 60 mg once daily.
Note: The above ranges are general medical references; follow your doctor’s specific instructions.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
  • Arcoxia can be taken with or without food. Taking it at the same time each day may help you remember your dose.
  • Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration to control symptoms and reduce the risk of side effects.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose.
  • Not recommended in children and adolescents under 16 years of age unless specifically directed by a specialist.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Provides effective relief from pain and inflammation associated with arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Improves joint mobility, reduces stiffness, and supports better daily function in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Offers targeted cox-2 selective inhibition, which may reduce gastrointestinal side effects compared with some traditional non-selective NSAIDs.
  • Helps control acute gout attacks and acute pain episodes, improving comfort and quality of life when used as prescribed.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Arcoxia (etoricoxib) is a prescription-only medicine and should be used under medical supervision.

  • May increase the risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events (such as heart attack or stroke), especially with long-term use or in high-risk patients.
  • Use with caution in elderly patients, who may be more susceptible to adverse effects.
  • Concomitant use with other NSAIDs (including selective cox-2 inhibitors or high-dose aspirin) is not recommended due to increased risk of side effects.
  • May interact with anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), antihypertensives, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, and some other medicines; inform your doctor about all medications you are taking.
