About the product

Bradipect 5 Mg 28 Tab

Description:

Bradipect 5 mg 28 film-coated tablets is a prescription cardiovascular medicine containing ivabradine, a selective heart rate-lowering agent. It is used under medical supervision to manage chronic stable angina pectoris and certain types of chronic heart failure by reducing heart rate without affecting myocardial contractility or intracardiac conduction. Bradipect helps improve exercise tolerance and reduce angina attacks in adults with coronary artery disease and normal sinus rhythm.

Indications:

  • Treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris in adult patients with coronary artery disease and normal sinus rhythm who are intolerant to or inadequately controlled by beta-blockers (as per physician’s decision).
  • May be used in combination with beta-blockers in patients with chronic stable angina whose condition is not adequately controlled with an optimal beta-blocker dose (according to physician’s prescription).
  • Management of certain patients with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, in sinus rhythm and elevated resting heart rate, as directed by a cardiologist (indication depends on local approved labeling).
  • Helps reduce frequency of angina attacks (chest pain), improve exercise capacity, and decrease episodes of exertional chest discomfort.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Ivabradine – 5 mg per film-coated tablet.
  • Other excipients (tablet core and film-coating agents) are present but detailed composition and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Bradipect 5 mg is for oral use only and must be taken exactly as prescribed by your physician.
  • Tablets should generally be taken twice daily (for example, morning and evening), with meals, or as directed by your doctor. The exact dose, frequency, and duration depend on your condition, resting heart rate, and response to treatment.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor advises otherwise.
  • Do not exceed the prescribed dose. Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your heart rate, symptoms, and tolerance.
  • If you miss a dose, take the next dose at the usual time. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed tablet.
  • Regular monitoring of heart rate, blood pressure, and overall cardiac status is recommended during therapy.
  • Always follow your cardiologist’s or healthcare provider’s instructions and do not stop treatment abruptly without medical advice.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Reduces elevated resting and exercise-induced heart rate by selectively inhibiting the cardiac pacemaker If current in the sinus node.
  • Helps decrease the frequency and severity of angina attacks, improving comfort during physical activity.
  • Improves exercise tolerance and overall functional capacity in patients with chronic stable angina.
  • May contribute to better long-term management of certain forms of chronic heart failure when used according to guidelines and physician supervision.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Use only under medical supervision. Bradipect (ivabradine) is a prescription medicine and is not suitable for self-medication.
  • Contraindicated in patients with severe hypotension, acute myocardial infarction, severe hepatic impairment, sick sinus syndrome, sinoatrial block, or third-degree atrioventricular block (unless a functioning pacemaker is present), and in unstable angina or cardiogenic shock, unless otherwise directed by a specialist.
  • Do not use if you have a resting heart rate that is already very low (bradycardia) unless your doctor specifically prescribes it and monitors you closely.
  • Use with caution in patients with atrial fibrillation, conduction disturbances, moderate hepatic impairment, or other significant cardiac conditions; close monitoring is required.
  • Ivabradine is metabolized mainly by the cyp3a4 pathway. Strong cyp3a4 inhibitors (such as certain azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, HIV protease inhibitors, and some calcium channel blockers like verapamil or diltiazem) can significantly increase ivabradine serum concentrations and should generally be avoided unless specifically advised by your doctor.
  • Avoid grapefruit juice during treatment unless your physician confirms it is safe, as it may affect drug metabolism.
  • May cause transient visual phenomena (phosphenes or luminous visual sensations), especially when moving between light and dark; caution is advised when driving at night or operating machinery.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Ivabradine is generally not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless the potential benefit justifies the potential risk.
  • Inform your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, including heart medications, antihypertensives, antiarrhythmics, antibiotics, antifungals, antidepressants, and herbal products.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without proper medical supervision and prescription.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include bradycardia (slow heart rate), headache, dizziness, and visual disturbances such as brief episodes of increased brightness or luminous sensations (phosphenes), especially when moving between different light intensities.
  • Other possible side effects can include fatigue, palpitations, arrhythmias (such as atrial fibrillation), gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, constipation, or diarrhea), and muscle cramps.
  • Serious side effects such as very slow heart rate, severe dizziness, fainting, or irregular heartbeat require immediate medical attention.
  • If you experience persistent visual changes, severe chest pain, shortness of breath, swelling of the legs, or any signs of allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling of face or tongue, difficulty breathing), stop taking the medicine and seek urgent medical care.
