About the product

Diglifloz 10 Mg 30 Tablets

Description:

Diglifloz 10 mg 30 tablets is an oral antidiabetic prescription medicine containing dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It is used as part of a comprehensive diabetes care plan to help control blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. By selectively blocking SGLT2 in the kidneys, Diglifloz promotes the excretion of excess glucose in the urine, helping to lower blood sugar, reduce HbA1c, and support long-term health prevention of diabetes-related complications when used alongside diet and exercise.

Indications:

  • Adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
  • May be used as monotherapy in patients intolerant to metformin, or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, DPP-4 inhibitors, insulin, or others, as prescribed by a physician.
  • Helps reduce elevated fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels.
  • Assists in lowering HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin), a key marker of long-term blood sugar control.
  • Supports comprehensive diabetes management and health prevention of long-term complications when used consistently as directed.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Dapagliflozin – 10 mg per film-coated tablet.
  • Excipients (inactive ingredients) – film-coating agents, fillers, binders, and stabilizers (exact excipient list and concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website; please refer to the official package insert for full details).

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Recommended dose for adults: 10 mg dapagliflozin (one tablet) once daily, or as directed by the treating physician.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water. Do not crush, break, or chew the film-coated tablet unless advised by your doctor.
  • Can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
  • Dose adjustments may be required when used in combination with insulin or insulin secretagogues (such as sulfonylureas) to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia; follow your doctor’s instructions.
  • Not recommended for use in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember on the same day. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
  • Regular monitoring of blood glucose and HbA1c is recommended to assess treatment response and adjust therapy as needed.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Helps lower blood glucose by inhibiting SGLT2 in the kidneys, increasing urinary glucose excretion (glycosuria).
  • Contributes to a significant reduction in HbA1c when used alone or added to other antidiabetic medications, supporting long-term glycemic control.
  • May assist with modest weight reduction in some patients due to caloric loss through glucose excretion.
  • Can help reduce fasting and post-meal blood sugar levels, improving overall daily glycemic profile.
  • Supports comprehensive diabetes care and health prevention of complications when combined with lifestyle measures such as diet, exercise, and regular medical follow-up.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dapagliflozin or any component of the formulation.
  • Not indicated for patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA); may increase risk of ketoacidosis.
  • Use with caution in patients with moderate renal impairment; generally not recommended in severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease. Renal function should be assessed before initiation and periodically during treatment.
  • May increase the risk of volume depletion (dehydration), hypotension, and electrolyte imbalance, especially in elderly patients, those on diuretics, or with low blood pressure. Ensure adequate fluid intake.
  • Increases urinary glucose, which may predispose to genital mycotic infections (e.g., yeast infections) and urinary tract infections; maintain good personal hygiene and seek medical advice if symptoms occur.
  • Monitor for signs and symptoms of ketoacidosis (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, excessive thirst, difficulty breathing, confusion, unusual fatigue); seek urgent medical attention if suspected.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding; safety data in pregnancy and lactation are limited.
  • Use with caution in patients with a history of recurrent urinary tract infections, genital infections, hypotension, cardiovascular disease, or impaired liver function.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you are taking other medications that may affect kidney function, blood pressure, or fluid balance.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have medical conditions such as kidney disease, liver disease, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes-related complications.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include increased urination, thirst, genital fungal infections (such as vulvovaginal candidiasis or balanitis), and urinary tract infections.
  • Other possible side effects include dizziness, hypotension (low blood pressure), dehydration, increased cholesterol levels, and mild changes in kidney function tests.
  • Serious but less common side effects may include diabetic ketoacidosis, severe urinary tract infections (e.g., pyelonephritis), and severe genital infections. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, difficulty breathing, confusion, fever, flank pain, or signs of severe infection.
  • If you notice any signs of allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling of face or tongue, severe dizziness, difficulty breathing), stop the medication and seek emergency medical help.
  • Always report any unusual or persistent symptoms to your healthcare provider.
