Warnings & Contraindications:

• Use with caution in patients with kidney disease, liver disease, heart failure, aortic stenosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, electrolyte disturbances (low sodium, low or high potassium, low magnesium), or a history of gout or high uric acid.
• May cause symptomatic hypotension (low blood pressure), especially in volume-depleted patients (e.g., those on high-dose diuretics, low-salt diet, diarrhea, or vomiting). Start treatment under medical supervision if you are at risk.
• Hydrochlorothiazide may increase blood sugar and cholesterol levels; use with caution in diabetic and dyslipidemic patients and monitor regularly.
• May increase sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity); avoid excessive sun exposure and use adequate sun protection.
• Drug interactions: Use with caution with other antihypertensives, potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements, lithium, NSAIDs, and certain other medications. Inform your doctor and pharmacist about all medicines and supplements you are taking.
