About the product

No-Uric 100 Mg 50 Tablets

Description:

No-Uric 100 mg 50 tablets is a prescription oral medicine containing allopurinol, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used to reduce high uric acid levels in the blood. It is commonly prescribed for the long-term management of gout, chronic hyperuricemia, and to prevent uric acid complications during cancer chemotherapy. By lowering uric acid production, No-Uric helps reduce gout attacks, joint pain, and the risk of kidney stone formation associated with uric acid crystals.

Indications:

  • Primary hyperuricemia associated with gout (chronic gout management and prevention of recurrent gout attacks).
  • Secondary hyperuricemia due to conditions such as myeloid metaplasia, radiation therapy, cancer chemotherapy, and use of thiazide diuretics.
  • Prevention of uric acid nephropathy and uric acid kidney stone formation in patients at risk (e.g., during intensive cancer chemotherapy).
  • Management of persistently elevated serum uric acid levels when dietary measures alone are insufficient.

Active Ingredients / Key Components:

  • Allopurinol – 100 mg per tablet (xanthine oxidase inhibitor that reduces uric acid production).
  • Excipients: Other inactive ingredients (tablet base, binders, fillers, and coating agents) are present but specific details , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website.

Dosage & Administration / How to Use:

  • Dosage must always be determined by a physician based on serum uric acid levels, kidney function, and clinical condition.
  • Typical adult starting dose for gout and hyperuricemia: often 100 mg daily, which may be gradually increased according to response and uric acid levels. Maximum daily dose is usually divided and should not exceed the dose prescribed by the doctor.
  • For patients receiving cancer chemotherapy: allopurinol is usually started 1–2 days before chemotherapy to prevent hyperuricemia and uric acid nephropathy; dosing and duration are individualized by the oncologist.
  • Take tablets orally with water, preferably after food to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.
  • Swallow tablets whole; do not crush or chew unless advised by a healthcare professional.
  • Maintain adequate fluid intake (unless contraindicated) to help reduce the risk of kidney stone formation.
  • Do not use No-Uric to treat an acute gout attack; it is for long-term control and prevention. If an acute attack occurs, follow your doctor’s instructions for additional treatment.
  • If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose.

Clinical Benefits:

  • Reduces production of uric acid by inhibiting xanthine oxidase, helping to normalize elevated serum uric acid levels.
  • Helps prevent recurrent gout attacks, joint inflammation, and pain associated with chronic gout.
  • Lowers the risk of uric acid kidney stone formation and uric acid nephropathy, particularly in patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy.
  • Supports long-term management of hyperuricemia secondary to medications (e.g., thiazide diuretics) or hematologic and oncologic conditions.
  • Contributes to protecting joints, kidneys, and other tissues from uric acid crystal deposition over time.

Warnings & Contraindications:

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to allopurinol or any component of the formulation.
  • Contraindicated in patients with acute gout attacks; treatment should not be initiated during an acute flare. Existing therapy may be continued if already established, under medical supervision.
  • Contraindicated in patients with hemochromatosis.
  • Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver impairment; dose adjustment and close monitoring may be required.
  • Serious skin reactions (including Stevens–Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis) have been reported with allopurinol; discontinue immediately and seek urgent medical attention if rash, blistering, or mucosal lesions occur.
  • May interact with other medicines such as azathioprine, mercaptopurine, cyclophosphamide, thiazide diuretics, warfarin, and certain antibiotics; inform your doctor about all medications and supplements you are taking.
  • Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or planning pregnancy; use in pregnancy should be based on a clear medical need and physician assessment.
  • Consult your doctor before use if breastfeeding; allopurinol and its metabolites may be excreted in breast milk.
  • Use with caution in patients with hypertension, diabetes, or other chronic diseases; regular monitoring may be required.
  • Avoid alcohol excess and follow dietary recommendations for gout and hyperuricemia as advised by your healthcare provider.
  • Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease without medical supervision.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects:
  • Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal discomfort.
  • Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, or fatigue may occur in some patients; if affected, avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the medicine affects you.
  • Skin reactions such as rash, itching, or redness can occur; mild rashes should be reported to your doctor promptly.
  • Serious hypersensitivity reactions, including severe skin reactions (Stevens–Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis), fever, lymphadenopathy, liver dysfunction, and kidney impairment, require immediate discontinuation and urgent medical attention.
  • Changes in liver function tests or blood counts may occur; periodic laboratory monitoring may be recommended by your doctor.
  • If you experience difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe rash, or unexplained bruising, stop the medicine and seek emergency medical care.
