Tareg 320 Mg Capsules
Description:
Tareg 320 mg capsules (film-coated tablets) is a prescription antihypertensive medicine containing valsartan, an angiotensin ii receptor blocker (arb). It is used to lower high blood pressure and protect the heart and blood vessels by blocking the effects of angiotensin ii, a potent vasoconstrictor. By relaxing blood vessels and reducing peripheral resistance, Tareg 320 mg helps achieve better blood pressure control, reducing the risk of stroke, heart attack, and other cardiovascular complications in adults with hypertension.
Indications:
- Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults.
- Helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications associated with uncontrolled high blood pressure, such as stroke and heart attack (as part of an overall treatment plan as directed by a physician).
- May be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive agents, such as diuretics, according to medical advice.
Active Ingredients / Key Components:
- Valsartan – 320 mg per film-coated tablet (capsule-shaped tablet).
- Excipients (inactive ingredients) such as tablet core and coating materials are present but specific excipients and their concentrations , please check the product leaflet or the manufacturer’s official website.
Dosage & Administration / How to Use:
- Usual adult dose for hypertension: 80–320 mg once daily, as prescribed by the physician. Tareg 320 mg is typically used when lower strengths are insufficient or when a 320 mg once-daily dose is indicated.
- Take exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
- Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the film-coated tablet.
- Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
- Treatment duration is long term and based on your doctor’s evaluation of blood pressure control and overall cardiovascular risk.
Clinical Benefits:
- Effectively lowers elevated blood pressure by blocking angiotensin ii at the at1 receptor, reducing peripheral vascular resistance.
- Helps protect the heart and blood vessels by reducing vasoconstriction, aldosterone release, and sympathetic stimulation.
- Supports long-term cardiovascular health by lowering the risk of complications associated with uncontrolled hypertension when used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
- Generally well tolerated and can be combined with other antihypertensive agents when additional blood pressure control is needed, under medical supervision.
Warnings & Contraindications:
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to valsartan or any of the excipients.
- Contraindicated during pregnancy. Medicines that act on the renin-angiotensin system can cause injury and death to the developing fetus. Discontinue immediately if pregnancy is detected.
- Not recommended during breastfeeding unless clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor.
- Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment, biliary cirrhosis, or cholestasis (according to standard valsartan precautions).
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, renal artery stenosis, or a history of kidney disease. Monitoring of renal function and serum creatinine is recommended.
- Risk of hyperkalaemia: Concomitant use with potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g. spironolactone, triamterene, amiloride), potassium supplements, or salt substitutes containing potassium may increase serum potassium levels and, in heart failure patients, may increase serum creatinine. Regular monitoring of potassium and renal function is advised.
- Use with caution in patients with volume depletion (e.g. due to high-dose diuretics, vomiting, diarrhoea) as symptomatic hypotension may occur.
- May cause dizziness or fatigue; use caution when driving or operating machinery until you know how the medicine affects you.
- Consult your doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, taking other medications (especially other antihypertensives, diuretics, potassium-sparing agents, or lithium), or if you have medical conditions such as kidney disease, liver disease, heart failure, or dehydration.
- Not intended for self-medication; must be used under medical supervision.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, fatigue, low blood pressure (hypotension), or mild gastrointestinal discomfort.
- Less common side effects can include increased serum potassium (hyperkalaemia), elevated serum creatinine, or kidney function changes, especially in patients with pre-existing renal impairment or those taking interacting medicines.
- Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling of face/lips/tongue, difficulty breathing) are rare but require immediate medical attention.
- Seek medical attention promptly if you experience severe dizziness or fainting, marked decrease in urine output, swelling of the face or extremities, or any signs of severe allergic reaction.
Storage Instructions:
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep container tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
