Description:

Augmentin 1 gm tablets are a prescription systemic antibiotic medicine used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in adults and adolescents. Each film‑coated tablet contains a combination of amoxicillin (a broad‑spectrum penicillin antibiotic) and clavulanic acid (a beta‑lactamase inhibitor) to overcome resistance and provide effective treatment against beta‑lactamase–producing bacteria. Augmentin is commonly used for respiratory tract infections, sinus infections, ear infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections when caused by susceptible organisms. Indications:

• Lower respiratory tract infections, including bronchitis and pneumonia, caused by beta‑lactamase–producing isolates of haemophilus influenzae and moraxella catarrhalis.
